The A/C Drain Free Canister is designed to be installed in the ¾” drain line leaving the air conditioner drain pan and to hold tablets that will dissolve as the condensate drain water runs through the canister thereby keeping the line clear.
The canister is installed by removing 3.5” (more if adapters are needed due to a different line size) from the drain line as close to the drain pan as practical and after the overflow shutoff switch. The cut ends of the drain line are then inserted into the collar connections of the canister.
If the spacing is correct and the drain line is not strained, pull the drain lines back out and apply PVC cleaner and PVC cement for a permanent installation.
Once installed, place A/C Drain Free Tablets in the canister and replace the dust cap. Depending on AC tonnage, heat and humidity: the tablets should last for several months. Periodic inspection will determine your individual use.
